The Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is not yet finished, but a few adventurers have ridden mountain bikes or walked on the trail. The trail has a very rough surface and is currently being prepared for construction.

Some photographs on this page are actually from the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail -- a 26-mile rail trail in northwestern Vermont that intersects with the LVRT corridor. The LVRT will be almost 4 times as long as the MVRT. If you're thinking ahead to what the LVRT might be like, we encourage you to go visit the MVRT that runs from St. Albans to Richford Vermont. More information about the MVRT can be found at http://www.mvrailtrail.com.

We'd love to include your favorites - please send them to info@friendslvrt.org and don't forget to include captions and photo credits!

Bikers on the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail. A great example for future development of LVRT.
Trail users looking forward to a tasty bite at local eateries.
As of the end of 2007, the old rails and ties have been removed from the trail - it's fun to walk, but still a bit rough for easy bike riding.
Crossing an old tressel - Some bridges along the trail will require re-decking, while other bridges will need repairs or replacements.
An earlier picture of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, before the rails and ties were lifted, and wishful bikers of a bikeable trails soon to be...

Nearby businesses like this beer brewery will surely benefit from a completed LVRT recreational trail.
